Tasker star of the show in big win

Wootton Bassett started the attack from the onset heading into a strong wind with James Tasker and Craig Mooney going close. The first goal came from a Wootton Bassett corner delivered by Joel Swann and tapped in by Mooney. From the centre, a sweet move involving Sam Jackson, Martyn Plaistow and Swann put through Tasker who in turn forced the keeper to save. Stratton's first attack came after 20 minutes and was brought to a quick stop with a crunching tackle from James Pringle who was making his first start of the season. A free kick was taken by Jackson on the halfway line and was worked in by Plaistow, Mooney and Swann before Tasker made it 2-0. The Stratton keeper, playing well, stopped further shots from Tasker, Mooney and Swann but Tasker eventually made it 3-0 and the half time whistle blew.

Two changes were made at half time with Jordan Embling replacing Jordan Daley and Nicholas Southern replacing Leigh Little. The second half started where the first had left off with Wootton Bassett pressing forward and Tasker volleying the ball over before scoring his 3rd and Wootton Bassett's 4th. Swann made it 5-0 after latching on to a poor clearance to slot the ball home. A good move involving George Bartlett, Alfie Passingham and Jackson released Tasker to make it 6-0. From the restart, Stratton broke through Wootton Bassett's usually strong defence to beat Jamie Wakefield to his right; this was Wakefield's only touch of the afternoon. Mooney then scored twice to make it 8-1, the first from a cross from Tasker and the second from a through ball from Plaistow. Plaistow was involved again with the next goal, beating two players and his cross was knocked down by Passingham and Tasker put it in to make it 9-1. Swann made it 10-1 after a through ball from Southern and Tasker, having his best goal scoring game, made the most of a poor Stratton clearance to make it 11-1 and followed up with another attack to make it 12-1. Mooney ending the rout after a move involving Bartlett, Southern, Swann and Plaistow to finish 13-1. Tasker finished with 7, Mooney with 4 and Swann with 2.
