Come back win for the Under 11's

Wow what a game. This was a game that no Under 11 parent would want to miss. Who would have thought at the beginning that we would come back from 4-1 down with 20 minutes to go, with 10 men to 5-4?

Shaw scored early on and gave us a wake up call. We defended hard and after a slide tackle Nicholas Southern came off injured and was replaced by James Pringle. We pushed forward and had the run of play, Martyn Plaistow had a shot cleared off the line and the boys were caught off side a few times which resulted in a couple of goals being disallowed. Everyone worked extremely hard which resulted in Jordan Embling scoring with his right foot and despite a lot of effort to increase the score at half time it was 1-1.

Second half was exhilarating with a lot of shouting and cheering on the sidelines. Sam Jackson, Joel Swann and Jordan Daley controlled the midfield and didn't stop running the whole match but Shaw came at us and Jamie Wakefield, playing in goal, had no chance when Shaw persisted and made the score 4-1. Leigh Little came off injured and was replaced by David Rayner in defence which was quickly followed by James Pringle coming off and we were down to 10 men (why does this always happen when your 3rd sub is sick?). Heads did not drop and the determination and strength of the team came through with some excellent forward passing and James Tasker made it 4-2 & then 4-3 within minutes, followed by another goal from Shaw. From the kick off, Sam Jackson sent Craig Mooney through who then scored to make it 5-4.

Although we didn't win, everyone is looking forward to the rematch. Well done to everyone who played.
