Saturday 11th April 2009 - Greenmeadow 'A' (H)

WBTFC started the game, very much how they had started their season. By displaying some flowing effective football. It wasn't long before their efforts were rewarded, with an opening goal by KR. The lead was quickly doubled, with a splendid solo effort by KR. A little complacency however crept in, and the away side began to fight for the ball. We found ourselves undone on a set piece, and conceded a goal. Rolling up our sleeves and eager to no let our lead slip away our lead was further extended with some lovely interplay and was finished off by Ryan D.

Half-time came, and at 3-1 ahead we still knew we had a game on our hands. But from the whistle we had the bit between the teeth, and Karl Roberts coolly finished off his hat-trick. Almost from the kick-off, again pressing play we scored fortuitously through Aiden C. GM, still not giving up, pulled on back through a direct free-kick. Again we pressed forward and took control, and KR notched up his fourth of the game. His game was unfortunately cut short, due to a nasty injury. (All the best in your recovery Karl, from all players/parents and Managers) After long injury time, the game re-started, and 1 goal was pulled back from GM, and WBTFC added 2 further goals by Ryan C, and Connor C. A credible display of mental attitude to the whole team, well done lads.
