Sunday 25th January 2009 - Greenmeadow 'A' (A)

This close contest was very highly-charged from the kick-off, with neither side really getting on top. It was a slick move by the visiting side, which was finished off superbly by Aiden Cressey. The WBTFC began to settle into their stride, and the lead was extended with a well driven shot by Karl Roberts. GM had shown early signs of their persistence; this was rewarded with a goal just before half-time from a set piece, which WBTFC were unable to clear.

The second-half, was more competitive with the difference 1 goal. Again some poor clearing was punished by GM with the equaliser. Shell-shocked by this come back, GM then extended their lead. With more determination, WBTFC found an equaliser with a move finished off by Ryan Campbell. Again Gm came at us, and once again got ahead. The lads never gave up and carved another equaliser through Brad Bancroft. Again, we were unable to hold on and conceded the match winner. A well fought contest, and good luck in the next round to Greenmeadow A.
