Sunday 9th November 2008 - Greenmeadow 'B' (H)

This contest, started off fairly even and competitive. It was swirling wind which denied WB the opening. It took some tenacious tackling from our midfield, and then a decisive pass from Karl Roberts into the path of Dan Ellis, who had made a lovely run into the box, who calmly slotted past the keeper. The play was dominated by the home side, and to their credit extended the lead through Brad Bancroft. The away side rolled up their sleeves, this along with the ever decreasing weather conditions started to weigh heavily on the home side. So half-time, was very welcomed to adjust and make changes.

It was clear; Greenmeadow No 8 was creating problems, so it came as no surprise that their equalising goal came from him. The home side still denied their much needed 3rd from the GM keeper, began to dig in deep. They showed tremendous resolve, but the 2-1 scoreline was fragile. Finally a lovely through pass from Aiden Cressey into Karl Roberts who rounded the keeper to secure a well deserved 3 points. A fantastic team display.
