Win to warm the hearts on another bitterly cold day

On a bitterly cold afternoon at Ballards Ash, Wootton Bassett won this 11-a-side league fixture against Derry Hill with a goal in each half for Jenna McFadzean and one for Sam Wood.

In the 5th minute, Bassett went into the lead following some clever play down the right and Sam Wood was in the right place to tuck the ball away. Bassett continued to dominate and Jenna McFadzean smashed the ball high into the net to double the lead after 7 minutes.

Despite having most of the play, Bassett failed to add any further goals before half time, and they went into the break still leading 2-0.

In the second half it was the same pattern and only some fine saves from the Derry Hill keeper prevented Bassett from increasing their lead. Chance after chance went begging until just before the final whistle Jenna McFadzean scored her second to complete a comfortable victory for the girls.
