Royal Wootton Bassett Town Women's First Team finally get their 2026-27 season underway on Sunday as they begin life back in the South West Regional Women's Football League Premier Division at home against AEK Boco (Swindon Mercedes Stadium, Gerard Buxton Sports Ground, 2pm kick off).
A difficult though exciting test, Boco finished last fifth in the Premier Division last year in what was their second season at tier five.
Bassett and Boco have plenty of history against one another from their days competing in the Gloucestershire County Women's League. But they have not met competitively since the 2018-19 season when together in the South West Regional League Division One East.
That year Bassett competed a double over Boco that included a 5-0 home win - a result that Bassett would love to replicate on Sunday.
Admission is £4 for adults, £2 for concessions and free for RWBTFC youth members.
Prior to that Saturday sees the Men's First Team begin a three game home stretch against Pershore Town (3pm kick off).
After narrowly escaping relegation last year, the Plums have made a respectable start to the new season. Bassett though will be aiming to make it four games unbeaten against their opponents having won two (including a 1-0 home victory last season) and drawn one of their most recent three meetings.
Admission is £8 for adults, £5 for concessions and free for RWBTFC youth members.
Also on Saturday the Development team look to continue their good form and go for a third consecutive victory as they make the trip south to visit Bemerton Heath Harlequins Reserves - a side Bassett took four points off last season (3pm kick off).
