There was a hat trick of wins for Royal Wootton Bassett Town's girls' section sides this weekend.

That included a fantastic 5–0 home victory for our Under-12s against Marlborough Youth Merlin's, with an excellent second-half performance from the girls.

Bassett started slowly and found it difficult to break Marlborough down in the first half. With 9-a-side football still very new to the team, the girls took some time to settle into their formation, while a difficult pitch also made it harder to play their usual football.

Once they found their rhythm, though, Bassett began to play some lovely football and really took control of the game, producing an excellent second-half display.

Esmae led the scoring with a brilliant hat-trick, while Annabelle also found the net. Shaina completed the scoring with her first goal for the team.

Player of the Match went to Mya, who showed excellent discipline and understanding of the team's structure throughout. Lucy also deserves a special mention for an equally disciplined performance.

A brilliant effort from the whole team and plenty of positives as the girls continue adapting to 9-a-side football.

There was an excellent performance from the Under-14s too! The girls produced an excellent display away at Bradford Town Seals, coming away with a well-deserved 3–1 victory.

Bassett started brilliantly, dominating the early stages and putting Bradford under pressure. Emily found Christina with a lovely pass, and she calmly finished to make it 0–1.

Bassett continued to play excellent football, with Hollie winning the ball in midfield before playing Christina through. She made a fantastic run and finished brilliantly for her second. 0–2.

Bradford pulled one back with a long-range effort, but we responded immediately. Chloe's excellent cross-field pass found Hollie, who finished beautifully into the bottom corner to make it 3-1.

The second half was end-to-end, with both teams battling hard. Ella was outstanding in goal, making fantastic saves to keep Bradford at bay.

An excellent team performance. Every girl played her part and should be incredibly proud.

A fantastic home performance from our Under-15s, battling the difficult conditions, saw them came away with an impressive victory against Bradford Town Ravens.

The wind played a big part in the game, with Bassett starting slowly and struggling to play their best football. However, the girls gradually adapted and began creating chances. Bradford threatened through the middle, but it was Bassett who broke the deadlock after 20 minutes. Ava found Mia at the back post, and she finished emphatically to make it 1–0.

Facing the wind in the second half made attacking difficult, but Bassett continued to work hard. Mia doubled the lead with an outstanding 25-yard strike, before Ava turned provider again, finding Sienna at the back post to make it 3–0.

Bradford continued to threaten, but Elise made a crucial last-ditch challenge, while Chloe produced some excellent saves to protect the clean sheet.

Mia completed her hat-trick after a mazy run earned a penalty, which she calmly converted.

A superb team effort and a well-deserved win.

There was a tough result for the Under-17s at home against Bath City as they lost 6-2, but there were plenty of positives to take from the performance.

The girls' effort and attitude could not be faulted. They are committed to playing football in the right way, and while that can sometimes lead to mistakes in certain areas, these are opportunities to learn and improve.

There were some excellent moments throughout the game, including great goals from Amber and Esme, who both showed quality in front of goal.

A special mention also goes to Hannah who had an excellent game in goal. She made some important saves, remained calm under pressure and showed a really positive attitude throughout.

Although it was a difficult result to take, the girls must keep their heads up. Staying positive, working hard and continuing to believe in the process will ensure the results start to go our way.
