Royal Wootton Bassett Town's youth section enjoyed a hugely productive Sunday, with five sides progressing in county cup competitions as seven of the club's eleven teams in competitive action recorded victories.
It was a particularly impressive day in Wiltshire County Cup competitions, with the Under 14 Yellow, Under 13 Blue, Under 13 Yellow, Under 12 Blue and Under 12 Yellow teams all booking their places in the next round.
The biggest scoreline of the day came from the Under 18 Yellows, who produced an emphatic 9-2 victory away at Calne Town in North Wilts League Under 18 Division Three. While not a cup fixture, the nine-goal haul was the standout attacking performance across the club's teams.
There was plenty to celebrate in the cup competitions, too. The Under 12 Yellows began their Wiltshire FA County Cup Plate campaign in style with a 7-1 away win at St Andrews Cardinals, while the Under 13 Blues advanced in the County Cup with a commanding 5-1 victory over Ferndale Rodbourne Fury.
The Under 14 Yellows also kept a clean sheet on their way through the County Cup Plate, recording a 3-0 away win at Wroughton & Wichelstowe Lions.
There was another shutout for the Under 13 Yellows, who defeated Marlborough Youth Eagles 2-0 away from home to progress in the County Cup Plate.
The fifth cup success came from the Under 12 Blues, who overcame Draycott Evolution Fire 4-2 in the County Cup first round.
Away from the cup action, the Under 14 Blues made a winning start to their North Wilts League Under 14 Division Two campaign with an impressive 4-1 victory at Highworth Town Juniors H. Veer Chavda, Ellis Paviour, Jack Saunders and Mikey Spencer were on target for Bassett.
The Under 16 Blues, winners in their opening fixture last week, had to settle for a point after a 1-1 draw at Ferndale Rodbourne in Division Two, while the Under 15 Yellow suffered their first league defeat of the season, losing 6-2 to Ferndale Rodbourne.
There were also defeats for the Under 18 Blues, beaten 4-2 at home by FC Walcot, and Under 16 Yellows, who went down 8-0 at home to FC Abbey Meads Purple.
Overall, it was a memorable cup Sunday for Bassett, with five teams safely through to the next round and seven victories across the eleven sides in action.
