Good win for injury-hit Bassett

The Town's first eleven continue to maintain their good form in the Calne & District League, and on Saturday, in spite of the fact that, owing to injuries received in the Cup-tie a week previously, the team included five reserves they won by 5 goals to 1 against Dauntsey. Their opponents had only ten men at the start and nine at the end, Lewis having to leave the field injured.

When the game was 15 minutes old W. Ogbourne had scored twice for the Town and immediately following the second goal Mills netted for the visitors. Play favoured the home side, and Sandell scored a third and Morris was responsible for a fourth before half-time.

The second half found the home team superior in every department, and after another 15 minutes Morris completed the scoring. The referee was Mr R.F. Pavey (Calne). The Town will have a stiff test tomorrow, when they meet Chippenham Town Reserves in the Wilts Junior Cup competition.
