After going five games without registering a win, Wootton Bassett Town finally saw the final score
read in their favour as they pulled off a 3-1 win at Harrow Hill.
Bassett needed a pick-me-up following Saturday's disappointing defeat at resurgent neighbours Cricklade Town, and that is exactly what they got.
While their hosts have struggled so far in their first season back in Hellenic League Division One West following relegation, they are always tricky customers.
But Larksfield Road has been a happy hunting ground for Bassett over the years, and that continued.
Ryan Banks continued his great early season form in front of goal by supplying the first to put his side a goal up at the break.
Once again Bassett failed to keep a clean sheet ñ something they have not done so far this year ñ but two goals from Sam Collier ñ one of which reportedly came courtesy of his right, standing foot! ñ ensured the three points.
Being the only game in the division on the night, the win lifts Dave Turner's side two places as they begin to play their games in hand over their rivals.
