Wootton Bassett Town A raced into a two goal lead inside five minutes courtesy of strikes from Tom Marchment and Phil Forster. Ferndale composed themselves from this earlier set back and reduced the deficit with a stunning free kick from just outside the box. Both sides created numerous chances but it was Ferndale who put themselves right back in the game when a whipped in cross from the right wing was deflected into his own net by Bassett defender Dan Strange. Both sides continued to push for the winner but both keepers had outstanding games and ensured the final score remained 2-2.
