Stand-in keeper Mochan keeps a clean sheet

With County Cup action at the age group just one league game was played, this was at Fairford where the home side, playing with just ten men, put up a spirited performance to restrict a lack lustre Wootton Bassett Town to just three goals. For the fourth consecutive match Fairford scored an own goal, their centre half heading over his own keeper to get the scoring under way. Dan Strange extended the lead for Bassett with a headed goal from a corner to make it 2-0 at the break. In the second period, whilst Wootton Bassett had the better chances, they only scored one more goal this from Aaron Stevens following a harsh award of a free-kick for a back pass. Jonny Aitkenhead's free kick finding its way to Stevens who made no mistake firing into the bottom corner. Fairford hit the bar at the other end with a cracking shot and then their keeper pulled off a splendid save from a Callum Snooks powerfully driven shot. Special mention to Bassett's stand-in keeper Shaun Mochan who kept a clean sheet for the visitors, despite normally playing out field.
