Royal Wootton Bassett Town Under 14 Girls had a big game over the weekend against Tyrone Mings Hurricanes in a tight North Wilts League Division One title race.
Bassett started strongly, displaying some great defending and with Mia Hughes looking dangerous down the right side.
With some great trickery, she drove down the wing and crossed a great ball into the box for Ava at the back post, who slotted it home for her very first Bassett goal.
It looked like the Blues were going to be ahead at the break, but Tyrone Mings equalised with a long range shot that looped over keeper Chloe's head.
The score was 1-1 going into the second half.
Despite being slightly deflated, Bassett kept going and pushed for the winner. The all-important final goal came from Sienna Matthews with just 5 minutes left to play, who pounced on the ball at the end of some great link up play by Mia and Eryn.
The match finished 2-1 to Bassett- a well-deserved and important win for the girls.
Supporters Player of the Match went to Elise Dart for a strong defensive performance, and Coaches' Player of the Match went to Mia Hughes, who was great when attacking
