The Under 14s suffered a defeat away over the weekend to Tyrone Mings Youth Hurricanes, who currently top the Division One table.
It was clear that the game was going to be tough from the start, but Bassett held their own and started strong.
Alisa Allan and Sienna Matthews came close to scoring, despite being put under pressure, but couldn't manage to find the back of the net.
Tyrone Mings, however, were also on the attack, but keeper Chloe Parkin pulled of some good saves to keep the score level.
Unfortunately, a poor goal kick forced the Bassett defence to make a challenge in the box, which resulted in a penalty for the home side. Tyrone Mings converted, putting Bassett a goal down.
The Blues went into the second half determined to equalise. The girls were able to create further opportunities and got their shape back, although they didn't find the game-changing goal that they'd been hoping for.
Tyrone Mings grew in confidence and were causing problems for Bassett down the left wing. Eventually, they got their second goal of the match.
Elise Dart was prominent in attack for the Blues and earned a free kick at the edge of the box. She stepped up to take it and, devastatingly, saw her shot hit the post.
After that the game took a turn and Bassett conceded another two goals.
It was a disappointing morning for the Under 14s as the game finished 4-0.
Chloe and Sienna picked up player of the match each for great performances.
An unlucky loss for Bassett, better luck next time.
