Winless league run continues

Sustain Stadium, Gerard Buxton Sports Ground, 6 November 2022

Royal Wootton Bassett Town's winless start to their South West Regional Women's Football League Premier Division campaign reached six games after a 4-2 hoke defeat against Bishops Lydeard.

Lydeard have made a strong start to the new season and after this result find themselves in third.

They had to work hard for this latest win though, with Bassett again showing they can compete with the sides above them but coming up short.

The visitors ultimately triumphed thanks to Imogen Miller's brace and further goals from Caitlin Berry and Shannon Osman.

Libby Davies scored both of Bassett's goals to take her tally for the season to 15. She is now responsible for eight of her side's eleven league goals.

Davies' first came from the penalty spot after a trip on Holly Baker. Her second was then an impressive finish as she turned her marker before finishing comfortably over the visitors' 'keeper.
