Ruthless Ladies make it six wins on the spin

A 4-0 triumph against Cheltenham Town Development made it six wins and three clean sheets in a row for Royal Wootton Bassett Town Ladies in the South West Women's Football League Eastern Division.

Bassett's impressive triumph against a side who they started the day level on points with also created a degree of separation against the chasing pack, while Jonny House and James Goddard's side remain hot on the heels of current leaders Frampton Rangers.

And the division's top two sides are set to face each in two weeks' time.

Against Cheltenham, Bassett again got off to a fast start. They took the lead after just three minutes as Hayley Huckin latched onto Hollie Timbrell's through ball and squared for strike partner Emily Arrell, who picked out the bottom corner.

The pace of Huckin and Arrell was causing the visitors' back line all kinds of problems, and Bassett would have gone into the break two goals in front was it not for the woodwork, which denied Huckin following Lauren Kayll's defence-splitting pass.

It didn't take long for their second to arrive after the restart though. And it came in some style as a superb passing move from front to back down the right hand side culminated in a composed Huckin finish.

Arrell was on target for the third, racing onto another well-weighted Timbrell through ball before turning the defender and stroking home.

Huckin then joined Arrell in grabbing a brace to finish the scoring. Laura Jefferies snuffed out a Cheltenham counter attack and swung a great ball in over the top of the defence, which Huckin - beating the offside trap - raced onto before keeping her cool when through on goal.
