Bogg fires hat trick as Ladies down Dursley

26 Oct 2014 - Dursley Town (A)

An Emily Bogg hat trick inspired a dominant Wootton Bassett Town Ladies side to a 5-0 victory away at Dursley Town as Becky Gammon's team recorded their second league success in a row.

Away at the side sitting third in the Gloucestershire County Women's League Division One going into the match, Bassett were expecting a very tough test. But a stunning display that saw them go into the break four goals to the good made for a more than comfortable afternoon's work.

Laura Gammon got the good opening goal, finishing off after good build up play from Bogg and Jo Duncan.

A Bogg lob soon doubled the advantage before brilliant passing play from Gammon and Megan Tidy set her up for a well taken second.

Bassett soon found themselves in an even more commanding position when a Laura Jefferies corner swung straight it in just before the interval.

In the early stages of the second half Bogg capped off a fine individual display for herself, as well as a five star performance for her team, with a stylish strike.

The win lifted Bassett up to sixth in the table, with third place Oldland Abbotonians just three points ahead.

And with the confidence gained from the defeat of Dursley to take into a trio of home games, Bassett will be looking to continue their rise up the standings.
