This was our eighth league match of the season and the match was at home against Highworth Juniors 'B' in very wet, windy and cold conditions. We felt this match should give us the opportunity to return to winning ways and the team was fired up to get a good result.

We started very well and put Highworth under a lot of pressure. We totally dominated the first half of the game but failed to score – hopefully it was not going to be one of those days!

The second half kicked off and we continued to play some very good football and battled well all over the pitch. It now felt like it was just a matter of time before we scored and we did not have to wait for too long. Josh Coventry scored with a neat finish after some good build up play. This goal gave the team real confidence and we really got stuck into. Max Reynolds scored with a powerful long-range effort that gave their keeper no chance. Alex Dinsmore added a third with an unstoppable drive and we were totally in control of the game.

It was a game that you did not want to finish as we played some excellent football and showed real commitment in defence as well as attack. The man of the match for Highworth was their goalkeeper who had an excellent game and he stopped us from scoring many more goals. Well done everyone!
