Boys bounce back with an excellent performance

This was our fourth league match of the season and we were all hoping the team would be able to put behind them last weeks disappointing (and totally out of character) performance against Highworth. The match was away against Shaw and the team did not let us down!

We started well and put Shaw under pressure right from the first whistle. The team kept its shape and we played some very good football. After 10 minutes Josh picked up the ball just outside the Shaw penalty area and ran through to finish well for our first goal. For the second goal a good pass from midfield found Josh in space 20 yards from the Shaw goal. Josh controlled the ball, looked up and played a great pass to find Tom free on the far post who slotted the ball home. At the interval we led by two goals to nil.

The second half kicked off and we were comfortably in control of the game. Our third goal was the end result of one of the best moves I have seen all season. The ball was played from defence to Alex who was wide on the right wing. He ran down the line, beat his man and whipped an excellent cross into the box. Tom timed his run into the box perfectly and hit the ball first time into the net. In the last ten minutes Shaw did put us under some pressure but the defence worked hard and always looked in control.

The game was played in very wet and windy conditions but this did not stop us from playing some of the best football I have seen so far. Keep up the good work!
