Mistakes are costly for Bassett in a Friendly

Despite the weather and half term holiday we managed to get in a friendly against fellow contenders Marlborough and were able to beat the weather. Bassett started well and found themselves one nil up after winning the ball from a Marlborough goal kick, Alisa was able to find Mia who's shot found the bottom corner.

Bassett continued to play well and were finding some passes but were unable to get another. It wasn't long before the striker was able to drive through and manages to beat the challenges and fire her first goal of the game for 1-1. And sadly another mistake cost us a goal as a handball from Elise inside the box wasn't given by the referee meanwhile the girls stopped playing and the striker nips in to score.

Marlborough manage to score again after the winger manages to beat the offside trap and is able to turn and find a runner as we struggle to recover. Her shot manages to find the back of the net for 3-1. Bassett are able to muster up a late chance in the second half as Alisa's ball over the top is kept alive by Elise who reacts and her shot is wide.

Half time 3-1

After a few changes Bassett we're looking to kick start their half and get back in the game. Sienna challenges the defender and put her under pressure and strike is just wide of the target. Sienna is in again and is played through the middle by Daisy but her strike is wide again. But for the chances Bassett find themselves conceding again as they struggle to clear their lines and the striker nips in to finish for 4-1.

And sadly as Bassett switched off Marlborough we're able to threaten as their striker is through on goal her first initial shot is saved but her second attempt is in. The striker was in again but fortunately for Bass her shot was wide.

And they kept coming for Bass as a few more mistakes saw Bassett punished as a misplaced pass from Chloe found the striker who finished and an Alisa own goal from a opponents corner saw goals number 6 and 7s go in.

Bassett were urged to finish the game strong as Mia drove forward her shot is saved with Sienna just missing out on the rebound. Daisy plays in Mia who finds Sienna who is just out muscled by the defender, great defending from her.

Mia drive forward and her shot and sienna trying to pinch

Daisy's corner finds Alisa back post and her shot is wide of the target and for all there hard work Bassett fail the find the net as a good combination between Daisy and Alisa finds Mia who selfishly passes to Daisy when it was more advantageous for her to shot.

Disappointing result for Bassett who were forced to watch their mistakes punished.
