Bassett lose at home to Trowbridge

On Saturday just one game survived the weather and ironically it was at the side who are most advanced with their fixtures, and probably least needed to get their game played, Royal Wootton Bassett Town. Whilst the home side now have just two games to play visitors Trowbridge Town with 12 still to play after Saturday's game were relieved to see some action for the first time since 24th February and they certainly enjoyed their afternoon as they ran out impressive 4-1 winners. It was the second time this season they have hit four goals past the Bassett defence. Trowbridge led 2-0 at the break thanks to goals from Elliott Caldicott and Ben Ryder, the second coming when Ryder got on the end of a free kick into the Bassett box. Rich Clarke pulled a goal back for the home side after the restart before Trowbridge hit another two themselves through Kieron Taylor and Dan Sandford to make sure of all three points. The best goal of the day went to Sandford who ran from the half way line and beat the whole of the Bassett defence before firing into the bottom corner of the net to seal the points.
