One of the in-form teams in the division had been Marlborough Town, who went into their home fixture with Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development with just one defeat in their previous six games. Royal Wootton Bassett Town came into the game on the back of an excellent win over reigning champions Wroughton just before Christmas and their good form continued into the New Year as first half goals from top scorer Ryan Withers and Logan Cassidy gave them a 2-0 lead at the break. That was to be the end of the scoring as Royal Wootton Bassett Town kept a clean sheet in the second half to take all three points, moving up into 4th place in the table in the process.
