1st Half

Not sure what the team talk was about but it made a difference, the team came out fighting! We quickly got a goal and seemed to relax our game a bit as Lydiard took the opportunity to level the score. After that we just got our heads up and went for it. There was good play by the whole team, the defense of Mollie and Kate, helped Ben with his fantastic goal saving, the midfielders Tom W, Tom L, Will & Mikey were running up and down the pitch. We were mature in our play, looking up before crossing, players without the ball, getting in to space – it was brilliant to watch, the parents were united with their praise. Dec & Dylan came on later in this half and had some good play

2nd Half

Jeremy tried a different tatic and had Will & Tom Warren in defense at the beginning of this half. It was interesting to see these two playing at the back., their speed got us out of a few scrapes. Again the goals just kept coming - Ben was put under pressure a couple of times but was determined not to let Lydiard score. They did get one goal and Ben was incredibly unlucky not to save that, as it was a double whammy - he recovered so quickly from the first save but one of their players got the rebound and managed to get it into the net. Mollie & Kate came back on later in the half and did their usual defending finesse. Tom Lawrence was determined to make Lydiard suffer, as was Dec, Mikey & Dylan!!
