1st Half

The game started quite messy and South Cerney started early with their attack and got an easy goal. We started to pick up after that with some good defending from James & Dylan. Will & Tom were making some good runs. Ben made a great save by punching the ball away, but unfortunately the Cerney striker was there in the right place and took advantage of the open goal. South Cerney followed up with another and we appeared to be floundering. Tom & Will then had an outstanding play of good passing at our end but it didn't end with a goal. We were awarded a penalty but it went wide

2nd Half

At the start of the 2nd half, South Cerney were awarded a penalty and fortunately for us they didn't manage to score. Then there seemed to be quite a messy patch and Mikey found the ball and managed to score – at last we were on the score sheet. Will had another excellent run but couldn't follow it up with a goal. There was some excellent defending by Fabio, who unfortunately managed to injure himself. Ben as usual made some excellent saves and James really got into defending hard and stopping South Cerney getting to the goal, him and Dylan made a good defence wall. There then followed some quality passing, both Dec & Will took shots at the goal but the ball just didn't want to go over the line. South Cerney then scored again. With a lot of encouragement from the sidelines, the boys kept their heads high and from nowhere Dec managed to curve a ball into the South Cerney net (yeah – he'd redeemed his rather lethargic self).
