Missed chances means the Reserves have to settle for a draw

Saturday's game against Carterton was a completely different story to the last game against Didcot and we controlled the game from start to finish and were unlucky to only finish the game with just a point to show for our efforts. The first half saw Dave Turner and Steve Howse go close with headers as well as a long range left footer from Stu Hemsley, but it looked like it was going to be one of those days when a blatant handball was missed by the ref and Carterton broke away to score and go into the break 1-0 up.

We started the second half brightly and got the equaliser from Neil Bridges after only five minutes after a good flick on from Dave Turner. It looked like just a matter of time before we went in front but chance after chance came and went and we finished the game not for the first time this season disappointed not to get a victory that the performance deserved. Saturday sees us make the trip to Hook Norton to play Banbury in another tough looking fixture.
