With Christmas fast approaching now seemed like the ideal opportunity to review our season so far. Following our convincing 5-1 victory on Saturday at Kidlington with goals from Simon Edwards (2), Ben Gascoyne (2) and a screamer from yours truly we sit in a mid-table position having played ten games, including three wins, four draws and three defeats and if it wasn't for our knack of conceding late goals in games we could easily be in the top three.

The biggest plus so far this season has been the team spirit and the attitude of all the players who have been used including the lads who have come down from the First Team but have been positive in their approach from the moment they have arrived and not just sulked like sometimes happens.

As with any reserve team it changes from game to game but we have been lucky that with all the new additions to the club we no pick a team that is now very competitive and also very easy to work with and players know they have to perform or somebody will be waiting to replace them. This Saturday we get the very rare luxury of playing a home match with Cheltenham Saracens being the visitors and a win would would take us into our Christmas break in good spirits so feel free to come along and give your support and get out of the Christmas shopping.

I would like to say a personal thank you to Paul Hanks who up until last week had ran the line for us in every game so far this season and Woody who has been a great help to both myself and the lads this season including the crossing the road lesson he gave us all at Finchampstead last week. From all the reserve set up have a nice Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
