On Saturday we again were on our travels (will we ever play at home) making the trip to lowly Headington who had only three points from their opening seven games and were still looking for their first win. If we were looking for a good start to the game we certainly got it with Simon Edwards giving us the lead after only forty seconds after some good work by J-P and Ben Gascoyne.

Headington looked dangerous from set pieces and we missed skipper Steve (BULLHEAD) Howse's presence on his return to the first team. We then went two goals up after twenty minutes when a free kick from debutant Karl Massey totally deceived the keeper and nestled in the top corner, he maintained in the bar after it was meant but I'm not so sure. We then went to sleep and let Headington into the game and were punished from two identical free kicks where the marking was poor and both goals were scored by a player with an unchallenged finish to make the half time score 2-2.

We had chances in the second half to win the game but didn't and although the second half performance was better than before the interval we must look at it as two points lost and realise that teams are not going to roll over and lose and we must approach every game with the same attitude. No game this Saturday (surprise, surprise) but we travel to Carterton on Tuesday and then play Fairford at home on Saturday in the cup so feel free to come along and support the lads.

Lastly for those of you who are unaware Tony Pidgeon has had to stand down due to work commitments etc and Brian Wood will now help me with the side and I look forward to working with Woody and would like to thank him personally for coming on board.
