Stephen Yeardley makes his full senior debut

We started the game with several changes form the defeat at Brackley including the full debut of Steve Yeardley who played with such confidence and was easily our best performer on the day to follow up the promise he showed form his subs appearance at Brackley.

The game started brightly and we took the lead after only four minutes from a good finish by Ben Jarrett but then proceeded to let North Leigh gain in confidence and spent the rest of the half hanging onto our lead.

We started the second half in similar fashion, and it took the appearance of chairman Paul Harrison to finally make us play to our potential and ability and his pin-point pass enabled Harry Sandu to increase our lead with his first goal for the club.

North Leigh then pushed players forward and the game became more open and we exploited the space scoring three further goals in the last twenty minutes through Simon Edwards and another two for Harry Sandu to complete his hat-trick and record a somewhat flattering victory.

As well as the performance of Steve Yeardley, Ben Jarrett worked tirelessly and deserves a mention for his display and all-round contribution. Next Saturday we make the short visit to Fairford and then Highworth the week after and as both teams have made promising starts to their seasons we will be able to have a realistic view on what the rest of the season holds for us.
