All three of Royal Wootton Bassett Town's senior sides are in away action this weekend - and the headline game takes place on Sunday when the Women's First Team travel to Bridgwater United in the Women's FA Cup third qualifying round (2pm kick off).

Pitting them against tier four opponents who have made an extremely strong start to their campaign, Bassett are big underdogs.

But James Lally's side go into the game with nothing to lose - as well as the chance to make history as an upset will see Bassett reach the first round proper for the first ever time.

Bridgwater have been present in the first round proper in each of the last five seasons and have advanced beyond that stage three times. That includes a run to the fourth round in 2021-22 when Bridgwater hosted and narrowly lost 2-0 against Women's Super League Manchester United, as well as consecutive trips to the second round in the past two seasons.

It promises to be a difficult but nonetheless worthwhile test for Bassett.

Prior to that Saturday sees the Men's First Team return to Hereford for a second time in a fortnight as Bassett visit Hereford Pegasus in the Hellenic League Premier Division (3pm kick off).

Both games between the teams finished 2-2 last season - including an entertaining draw in Herefordshire. Those results extended Bassett's unbeaten streak against Pegasus to eleven games.

Also on Saturday the Development team make the short trip across the county border to face newly promoted Fairford Town Reserves in the Wiltshire League Premier Division (3pm kick off).
