Devizes had to fight hard against lowly Wootton Bassett for their win. The visitors fought back well against an early Devizes goal, scored by Cook, and they went close on several occasions before Devizes broke away to increase the lead. A long shot by Bowsher hit the Wootton Bassett bar and R. Smith was at hand to score. The visitors staged a comeback after the interval, and following two good efforts by Pye and Simpkins, which Boore beat away, Pye headed a grand goal to reduce the arrears. The issue was in doubt until ten minutes from the end, when Cook rounded off a good run with a brilliant goal which assured Devizes of both points.
