Bassett pick up first point against Kintbury thanks to Wrona penalty

League leaders Kintbury Rangers were at home against a Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development side who they had defeated in all four previous meetings between the sides, including an 8-1 in the corresponding fixture last season. It was a different story this time round as the teams turned around goal less at the break in what had been an even first half. Whilst Kintbury had a lot of possession it was the visitors who went closest to breaking the deadlock in the first 45 minutes as Lewis Sopp made a great block just before the half time whistle to prevent the leaders from going behind. It was the visitors who eventually did break the deadlock though as Matt Bennett was brought down in the box and Gio Wrona slotted home the resulting penalty. Kintbury pushed for an equaliser and it finally came three minutes from time following a goalmouth scramble from a set piece into the box which saw Alex Smith get the final touch to make it 1-1 and the points were shared.
