Bassett push the champions Wroughton all the way

Moving up the table ominously into third spot are last season's champions Wroughton who maintained their 100% record for the season with a hard fought 3-2 home win over Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development. Jordan Lea gave last season's champions an early lead before Kyle Parker extended the lead with a second for Wroughton. Youngster Charlie McCuish pulled one back for the visitors from Royal Wootton Bassett who then went in search of an equaliser. It didn't come and Kyle Parker looked to have settled any Wroughton nerves with his second of the game to restore Wroughton's two goal advantage. However, McCuish fired in his second of the game with a neat finish and had a penalty shout denied at the death to cause a few anxious moments for the defending champions but they held out in the end to take another three points to move within a point of the top two with two games in hand.
