On a fairly cloggy pitch Bassett proved again that they can play football in any conditions. Fairford made more of it than the score suggests, however in the first half Bassett were unable to break down their defence with the Fairford keeper making some good saves. Bassett tried hard, some times too hard to find a way through with the final pass just going astray or just being taken that extra yard too far. Half time 2-1

The second half was a bit more dynamic with Bassett letting the ball do the work, some good two touch football soon opened up the Fairford defence, and the goals started to come, however the Fairford side were resolute and stuck to their task and were unlucky on a couple of occasions not to score themselves on the break.

An entertaining game with Fairford scoring a second well taken consolation goal near the end.
