Great performance as Under 12 Girls draw with Swindon Town

Conditions werent good from the start of this game, as after a night of heavy showers left the pitch sticky and wet. As soon as the game got under way, Swindon Town piled on the pressure, but strong defending by Basset kept their side in contention. With Emily Dixon becoming the main focus of the Wooten Bassett side, they pushed forward creating a chance for Sammy Baker, who could only find the side netting. After Tegan Buchanan made several fine saves another chance fell to Emily Dixon, who hit the post with a great volley. Wootton Bassett went in at half time 0-0.

The second half kicked off with Wootton Bassett looking the stronger of the two sides. Great movement by Hannah Coventry, helped create a few attacking chances but again the Swindon defence held strong. With Charlotte Burke, going in goal at half time Tegan Buchanan joined Amy Aitken and Rebecca Packwood in defence. It was Rebecca who created the next chance with a long throw, that even Gary Neville would of been proud of. It reached the swindon area but again to no avail. Great passing and moving continued throughout the Bassett side until the final whistle went. A great performance by all the girls and another point to the league table. Final result 0-0. Well done girls ! !
