Johnny Lawrence returned to the Wootton Bassett side in startling fashion today – he had the ball in the visiting Radstock net within 20 seconds. Lawrence had been out of the side resting for the last three weeks.
From 40 yards out, his long lob was carried with the wind over the goal-keeper's head into the net.
Three minutes later Holloway, the visitors' left-half, had a good free-kick saved by Jones.
Wootton Bassett were two up after 25 minutes, Embling's shot was only partially saved and Young came running in to make sure.
Tilley scored two (one penalty) in the second half for Radstock.

Certainly we expected Wootton Bassett to beat Radstock but again, we were wrong. We should not have been for Wootton Bassett had plenty of good scoring chances, but that recurring forward trouble was still with them in spite of them having Ray Young back at centre forward.
Frank Curtis was unable to play, which let Johnny Lawrence into the left-half position and Johnny played his part by scoring very early on – in 20 seconds to be exact. Ray Young added a second before half time and Wootton Bassett seemed set for a win in spite of having missed other chances.
It was not to be though. Radstock are fast improving and had won their previous four games. A penalty by centre half Dave Tilley reduced their deficit and Tilley followed this with an equaliser from a free-kick.
