Shrivenham United opened their new ground with a match against Wootton Bassett Town. Joe Page, the Shrivenham ever-green, was credited with the first goal after quarter of an hour's play, and at the interval the score stood 3-0 in the home side's favour, Baxter scoring twice.
The visitors had more of the game in the second half, but Smith and Joe Page increased the lead before Archer reduced the deficit. Baxter netted again before the close and Shrivenham won by seven goals to 1.
