Visitors Chiseldon victory marred by broken leg

The Reserves entertained Chiseldon in a Swindon and District League game and were defeated by 6 goals to 2. Right from the start the visitors were much the better side, and at the interval the score was in their favour. About midway through the second half W. Ponting, the Chiseldon centre-half, collided with M. Twine, of the home team and fell. He received immediate attention by trainer A. W. Coleman (who is a St. John ambulance man) and it was found that his right leg was broken just below the knee. He was further examined by Dr. J. N. Watson (hon medical officer) and was then taken to the Swindon Victoria Hospital. The scorers were A Hunt and S. Titcombe for the Reserve and F. Kent (3), C. Cox (2), and Weller for Chiseldon.

Tomorrow the Reserves will visit Swindon G.W.R. A Shop in a Swindon and District League (Div II) fixture, and the selected team is: P. Norris; S. Hunt and F. Tuck; M. Twine, C.Archer and Fry; A. hunt, S. Taylor, S. Titcombe, A.W. Clarke and F. Tyler.
