The Under 16s had a tough game at home against Ashton Keynes on Saturday, and things didn't quite go their way from the start.

The girls had to start the match with 10 players, and keeper Mia was under the weather, though she still stepped up bravely in goal.

Bassett started well and the game was pretty even for the first 25 minutes, but then Ashton Keynes sadly nicked two quick goals midway through, and a third before half time.

The Blues started the second half stronger, this time with all 11 players, and showed great fighting spirit.

However, although they played really well, they couldn't manage to find the back of the net. Instead, Ashton Keynes scored twice more.

The girls suffered a 5-0 defeat in the end, but the score didn't reflect the game.

Player of the match went to Daisy Bundy, who was outstanding player in several different attacking roles.
