Royal Wootton Bassett Town Under 18s' hopes of advancing in the Wiltshire League Floodlit Division Cup were ended after a 2-2 draw away against AFC Aldermaston.

Needing wins in their final two group fixtures to leapfrog Aldermaston and reach the final, Bassett fell short after an entertaining draw in Berkshire.

But, having trailed 2-0, Bassett can be pleased with the performance they put in to rescue a point.

A goal from Adam Keating in the first ten minutes and a second from Michael Simpson five minutes from time meant it looked like Aldermaston would continue their habit in the cup of winning games with late goals.

However, a late rally from Bassett saw them score twice in the closing minutes of the match through Jowan Partridge and Kevin Prouse.

Bassett now finish their campaign on Thursday 28 April at home against New College.
