Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development completed a season double over Devizes Town Reserves as they won 2-0 away against the Wiltshire League strugglers.

It had been a close-run thing when Bassett and Devizes met on the opening day of the season at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground, with Steve Yeardley's side edging that contest 2-1. Devizes then won their second game convincingly and it looked like they would have a much better season. However, the next 19 games would yield just one point before last week's emphatic win over Purton gave them maximum points for only the second time this season.

Things had been improving under new manager Duncan Sterling, their third boss of the season, even before that win last week and for the second time this season Bassett were made to work hard for the points by Devizes.

Dale Richards put the visitors ahead on the half hour mark and it remained 1-0 at the break. Leading scorer Matty Bennett extended Bassett's lead five minutes into the second half, scoring his 27th of the season.

Devizes played some decent football throughout the match without really creating any clear-cut chances as it finished 2-0 to Bassett.
