Chairman's son spends another night in doghouse after late equaliser

On Wednesday night it was the second leg of the local derby between Purton and Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development which had seen Purton win the first leg 3-1 on Saturday. Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development were up against it on Wednesday night when they had a player sent off in the opening 10 minutes of the game giving Purton a one-man advantage for most of the game. However, despite being a man down it was Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development who went in front on 21 minutes when Dale Richards scored. Purton were finally able to take advantage of the extra man 10 minutes from time when Scott Walduck, son of the Royal Wootton Bassett Town Chairman, scored his second of the week against Bassett to salvage a point for his side. If they had taken all their chances it could easily have been all three points and the double, but it was not to be as the 10 men of Royal Wootton Bassett held out for a share of the points.
