26 Feb 2012 - Stratton Juniors Lions (H)

1ST HALF

Bassett showed early promise in the first half of this game. Callum was very unlucky to not score earlier in the game. Bassett did appear the stronger side, Josh was incredibly calm in goal and stood his ground whenever the ball came near, the defense of James, Nav & Mollie backed him up with some good defending. Then came a moment of pure brilliance; fantastic passing up the pitch by Dylan to Kai and then Kai onto Callum who unfortunately hit the post, but Callum's determination paid off and less than 2 minutes later he fired his shot straight into the goal. Dylan was then very unlucky not to score a 2nd goal for us. Declan had moments of form but they weren't consistent. The grit and determination of our defenders was incredible, they were not going to let Stratton Lions get anywhere near the goal.

Stratton Lions must have had an incredible team talk, as the game was turned around in the second half as they came back on the stronger team. Josh did us proud in goal today and made some really good saves. Kai was unlucky to miss a goal when he had placed himself so well. Again there were some pure magic moments of passing; Dylan made a lovely pass to Kai who again had an unlucky miss. Bassett seemed to up their game again half way through the second half and there were several attempts to score by Fab, who was unlucky to miss after having a fantastic run. Our midfielders Michael & DJ were also relentless, tackling hard but fair and putting the ball in the right place
