Wootton Bassett Town Reserves continued their fine start to the season, recording a 3-2 victory against local rivals and reigning champions Highworth Town at Rylands Way. The win was their fourth on the trot and lifts them into second place behind Gloucester City 'Development' - the Blue Square North side's second team.

Goals from Tom Marchment, Lee Smith and Matty Buckingham - the latter also being set up by the in form Marchment - secured the three points for Simon Paish's team, who came back from 2-1 down, grabbing the winner late on.

Last season, Bassett finished 9th out of 13 teams in the Hellenic League Reserve Division One, winning eight games all year. This year, they are already halfway towards matching that total of victories, having played just six matches.

Their focus shifts away from league action next week, when they travel to Chalfont Wasps, who are currently riding high in Division Two East, in the Reserve Challenge Cup.
