Saturday 12th December 2009 - FC Chippenham Youth (A)

The game started with Bassett being slightly slow off the mark and unfortunately, conceded one goal about five minutes into the game. However, they began to pick up and managed to penetrate Chippenham's defence for a few goal attempts. Just before half-time Bassett let their guard down and the opposition scored again. Although the half-time score was 2 - 0 to Chippenham, the Bassett team had had enough play in the Chippenham's half to have the potential to even the score in the next half.

For the second-half Bassett changed their Goal Keeper from Shannon to Katie, as Shannon had been hit in the face by the ball during the first-half. Ten minutes into the second-half Chippenham again managed to score another goal. Not to be beaten, three minutes later, Bassett managed to get the ball up to their Striker, Julia and she scored. Bassett's defence held to the end of the game and so the final score was Wootton Bassett 1 and FC Chippenham 3. Rachel Buchanan, a relative new-comer to the Bassett Team, was the well-deserved 'Man of the Match' for her continuous energy and enthusiasm in mid-field.
