Saturday 26th September 2009 - Melksham Town Youth (A)

The game started off with Melksham putting pressure on Wootton Bassett. However, about half-way through the first half, Bassett found their feet and had several good break away attacks. Despite Melksham playing some excellent shots, Bassett's defence was too good and Melksham's attempts did not end in any goals.

In the second-half, although Melksham again attacked Bassett and came close to scoring, Bassett battled and with the help of a solid defence team and a good goal-keeper, Melksham were again denied the goals. Although under pressure, Bassett managed to battle back and try a few goal attempts themselves. All-in-all the teams played some skillful football and it was a very watchable and tense game, especially as there seemed every possibility of either team scoring and winning.
