Sunday 7th September 2008 - Highworth Town Juniors 'F' (A)

After all the summer tournaments we finally got down to our league fixtures and started with an excellent victory.

We came out of the traps with all guns blazing and our opening goal came after only 35 seconds, with Euan slipping the ball under the goalie after a very slick passing move.

Some of the football we were playing was a joy to watch and showed that our players are developing in the way we want them to. The most pleasing aspect was that they are not afraid to have an extra touch on the ball, when the time arises.

Another very good move ended with Euan again finishing very well and following a superb through ball from Ryosuke, he completed his first ever hat-trick.

As the first half neared to an end we got our 4th goal through debutant Tyler Fitchett, as he ran from the half way line and thumped the ball into the top corner.

Half Time 4-0

The second half saw us straight back into the groove and the Highworth keeper made several fantastic saves to keep the ball out of the net, with a flying save from a Callum shot the best of the lot.

At times we lost a little bit of our shape, which was only to be expected as we went in search of more goals.

The crowd nearly saw an early runner for goal of the season, as a long range strike from debutant Jordan Taylor hit the inside of both posts before being cleared to safety.

We finally got our 5th goal when Jordan did get his goal, as he poked the ball over from close range after our corner wasn't cleared.

With the game now won we pushed Lewis up front and he helped himself to a couple of goals after unselfish work from Harrison.

Match Analysis; An excellent start to the season and a delight to watch from the side as we passed the ball around superbly.

Player of the Match; A very difficult decision with everybody having very good games, but we plumped for Ryosuke Totsuka who didn't waste a pass all afternoon.
