Thursday 18th September 2008 - Bemerton Heath Harlequins (H)

After a good win against Shrewton utd last week the lads were up for this game.

After a good start and good possession football by both teams Bassett nearly went 1-0 up on the 12 min when Craig Kelly hit the cross bar and went over,from the gaol kick we broke down the right with some good work between John Turner and Nathan Sahers only for the ball to get over hit and Matty Buckingham couldn't find the net.

The next chance came from Bremerton on 21 min with some good work in the middle of the park but a good save from Ryan McCarthy to push it out for a Conner, with good keep ball from both team and I must say some strange decisions from the referee, it finished 0-0 at half time.

Started the same as the end of the first half with some good passing play from Bassett with George Drewitt directing the midfield with Joe Blackford getting the ball out wide to Matty Buckingham and Sahers and some good over laps from Turner and Dane Moulden we could have got some thing out of this game, but a bad defensive error cost a deflected goal which gave McCarthy no chance 1-0 Bremerton with 5 minutes remaining Bremerton just shut up shop and delt with ever thing Bassett threw at them.

Result: Wootton Bassett Town 0 Bremerton 1
