An excellent game of football played in difficult conditiond, refereed extremely well by Dave Daly came to life 10 minutes before half-time when the visitors were awarded a penalty. The Gunners Boy goalkeeper took the kick and fired it into the Bassett net. A minute later Bassett were back on level terms when Chris Mochan scored his first of the match. Having got back into the game Bassett allowed Gunners Boys to go straight back down the other end and restore their lead. With the half coming to an end Adam Blakeman ensured that the terms turned round on level terms when he equalised for Bassett.

After the break Bassett took the ascendency with goals from the deadly duo of Chris Mochan and Tom Walkley, 4-2 to Bassett. Gunners Boys put themselves back in the game with another goal in this end-to-end game but Dan Bracey restored Bassett's two goal lead only for Gunners Boys to score again to make it 5-4. This goal gave Bassett the wake up call they needed and Chris Mochan fired 2 further goals to make it 4 in the match for him to give Bassett all three points and a final score of 7-4.
