Tuesday 20th October 2020

Royal Wootton Bassett Town Under 12 Yellow registered back to back victories, with a 6-2 triumph away at South Cerney. The high-scoring North Wilts League Division Four game saw goals from William Moreton (2), Fynn Crone, Thomas Hyde and Yusuf Guloglu fire the Yellows up the table to sixth after seven games of the season.

Next weekend, the Yellows face Stratton Juniors Lions at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground, with the away side sitting comfortably in third with only the one defeat this season.

Elsewhere, the Under 13 Blues could not capitalise on five good goals, in a game which ended 6-5 to Stratton Youth. A Brandon Jack brace, as well as goals from Samuel Britton, Oliver Caskey and Charlie Hancock could not counter Stratton's half dozen. The Blues sit mid table in sixth, with nine points from six games in U13s Division Two, and face seventh place Croft Juniors next week.

The Under 16 Blues fell victim to a 3-1 defeat at home to Highworth Town Juniors H. A goal from Ryan Lawrence was not enough to cancel out three Highworth goals, which led to the U16 Blues' second defeat of the season. The result sees the team sit sixth after four games. They are back in action next week against South Cerney, who sit top of the league, only dropping two points from a possible fifteen this season.

The Under 12 Blues could not maintain their perfect start to the season, with a 2-0 loss away at top of the league Ramsbury Youth. After their impressive high-scoring start, the Blues fell victim to higher placed opponents. The result places the team fifth after five games, with a game in hand on the teams above. Next week the Blues visit Highworth Town Juniors T, who are bottom of the league with no points from seven games in U12 Division Two.

Bassett's U14 Blues were unable to keep up winning ways, falling to a 5-2 loss away at Ferndale Rodbourne YCFC Red. Goals from Jamie Black and Finlay Hyde were the highlight of a valiant away performance from Bassett, who were unlucky not to win three on the bounce. The Blues sit second in the league after four games, with twelve points from eighteen, and a game in hand on the league leaders. They have a week off before facing Marlborough Youth Eagles, who are seventh with one win from seven.

Finally, the Under 14 Yellows unfortunately were beaten 13-2 by top of the league FC Abbey Meads Youth Blue. Goals from Finlay Marshall and Edie Sophia Harris were stand out moments of the match for Bassett,, who unfortunately sit bottom after four games. Next weekend sees a short journey to Stratton Youth, who are fourth in U14s Division Four.
